We continue with the stories of 9-day trip to the Maldives and in this case we explore the island further and see what others activities can be done in Kuredu Island Resort.

Who says that in the Maldives there's not much to do? Well, myself a few days before going to the Maldives. Being a beach destination, I thought it wouldn't be made for me, since I don't like to make "the croquette." But how wrong I was ...

The morning began soon, very soon, as we got up before six to see the sun rise. We walked the ten minutes from the "O Beach Villas" to the beach near the jetty. At that early hour we were just us and some employees who were starting to tune the resort.

We didn't get tired of taking pictures at dawn.

The day before, the sunset had not been very beautiful because it was very cloudy and that morning Sunrise He was on the same path. Luckily, after waiting a bit there was a time when the sky cleared a little, enough to enjoy all the colors of dawn. Slowly, and as the sun rose, the turquoise colors of the waters surrounding the island appeared.

They are images that I had always seen in magazines. So being there, living it live, with your feet on the white sand and soaked in those turquoise waters it was like being on a postcard of paradise

Breakfast at Bonthi restaurant: notice that the ground is sandy beach

About half past seven we went to breakfast at Bonthi restaurant, near the main reception of the hotel. This restaurant is the one that opens earlier in the whole resort (around 7am) and when we arrived there were already some tables occupied. He breakfast in all the restaurants of the hotel it consists of a buffet with a great variety of fresh products: fruit, bread, sausage, tortillas cooked to taste and live, and sweets, many candies. We had enough breakfast for strength, since that day was going to be very intense. To the activities we already had in mind we added two more, so we were going to need all the energy possible.

At 9:30 we meet at the reception to visit the turtle sanctuary from the island of Naifaru. We found it an interesting cause and also a good opportunity to know what life is like on a normal island, real life in the Maldives. To get there we took a ship that was sailing through the Laviyathi atoll. We went through different islands, some uninhabited, others with hotel complexes. We even saw the bow mask of a sunken ship that stood out in the sea.

Naifaru Island

The Naifaru Island It is the most populated atoll. It has about 5000 inhabitants, but like Kuredu, you barely see people. The street is not paved, it is all compacted beach sand and there are some shops, a post office and a branch of the bank of the Maldives. This is a Muslim country governed by the law of the sharia, so, when visiting an inhabited island you have to go properly dressed.

Tortuguita in recovery

He turtle recovery center It was a bit shabby, really. It was a place built roughly with various water tanks where they had turtles, often pets that people do not know how to keep, and that the center takes care of and return them to the sea when they are recovered. There are also wild turtles that fishermen find and are not healthy. Unfortunately, the center has many budget shortfalls and they do what they can with the help of the visitors they receive. Even so, this excursion seemed a bit disappointing for the price and for what we visited, although it gave us the opportunity to see a little better how life is outside the resorts.

While they were doing the massage, I watched little fish go by.

In the "All inclusive Plus" we had included a 15 minute free massage and to enjoy it we went to Duniye spa. What we liked most about this spa is that the treatment rooms are built on the water, and under the stretcher there are small windows where you can see the sea and the fish go by while you are being treated. It was very beautiful while relaxing. We only did the 15-minute massage included in the “All Inclusive Plus”, but there are also more intense treatments from $ 100 or for $ 79 extra if the free 15-minute bonus is complemented.
