The year ends and, of course, we close it with a summary of what has been for us and for the blog. If I had to sum it up, the headline would be: more trips and less blogging. This year we have traveled a lot, we have made many trips and we have made three great trips. Unfortunately, the year has not ended well, since on the last trip I broke my leg and we had to return earlier than planned. But to know the full story you will have to wait a bit. Then we leave our 2015 traveler summary.
Two days of pending holidays of 2014 and a € 60 plane ticket made us start the year visiting our friends in Edinburgh. It was four days of talks by the fire, dinners and meals with friends. Slow travel in pure state.
March: Flanders with friends
It is already becoming a tradition. In March we made a getaway with friends Fashion Travel Bloggers. If the previous year we had gone to Rome To celebrate my bachelorette party, this year we traveled to Flanders to celebrate Meritxell's bachelorette party. It was three days we visited Mechelen, Leuven and Brussels, and we had a great time.
April: Loire Castles
One more year, during Holy Week we decided to escape to France. This time we spent four days visiting the Loire Valley and its castles: Blois, Amboise, Tours, Chambord, Chenonceau and Montrésor. Four days are short to visit that area, so soon we will visit the rest.
May: Modernist Barcelona and Tarragona
Taking advantage that Adela and Raúl came to visit us Wandering the planetIn May we visited the most emblematic modernist buildings in the city. It is surprising that until then we had never visited several of them inside, and that we passed many times ahead! We visit the Palau de la Música Catalana, the Milà house, the Batllò house, the Palau Güell, the Amatller house and the Hospital de Sant Pau.
A few weeks later, we returned the visit to Adela and Raúl in Tarragona and went another year to Living tarraco. It is a historical-cultural festival that talks about the city's Roman past with very interesting activities. That day we went down to the arena of the Roman theater in Tarragona and fought with gladiators.
Taking advantage of the bridge of the second Easter we made a quick escape to one of the most charming corners of France. Alsace is full of charming villages out of a story. We traveled the wine route with a rental car and visited Colmar, Eguisheim, Kaysersberg and Riquewihr among other villages.
In August the first great trip of the year arrived. We had two weeks of vacation and spent them touring Greece, a destination that Xavier had long wanted to know. We made a classic but intense route: the best ruins of the Peloponnese, Athens, we visit two Cyclades islands: Folegrandos and Santorini, and we made a brief foray into Crete. From the trip we are looking forward to knowing more islands and other areas of the peninsula, so we are sure that we will return soon.
