As I mentioned several entries ago, at the beginning of the year we decided to give ourselves a romantic weekend in Navarra. Although the distance from Barcelona is a bit long, we knew how to take advantage of it and that Navarre It has a lot to offer. Here are some brush strokes:

Stroll through its forests

A few kilometers from Lantz is extends the Orgi Forest, an ancient oak grove through which various paths run and where you can learn about flora and fauna. Being flat, it also has trails for the blind and information in Braille. It is also wheelchair accessible. There are many other forests that can be visited, such as the Irati jungle, the Aralar mountain range, the Bardenas Reales Natural Park and the Urbasa-Andía Natural Park, among others.

Discover caves with a lot of mysticism

Five minutes by car from the border of France we find the Zugarramurdi cave, a huge rocky cavity where covens were celebrated in the seventeenth century and where those accused of witchcraft perished at the stake. In this cave you will not find stalactites or stalagmites, nor cave paintings, but it has a magical halo, a beauty so incredible that I understand that those pagan meetings will take place. In addition, the road that leads there by the national 121B and that crosses the valley of Baztan is so beautiful that every two by three I stopped the car and started to take pictures of the landscape. Other interesting caves that you can visit in Navarra are the Urdaz cave and the Mendukilo cave.

Staying in a romantic little hotel

As the Iribarnia hotel, in the population of Lantz. A chic rural hotel, with a fireplace, attic room and restaurant with typical local dishes for dinner. Ideal for couples.
